Mid-September Tier List: Ranked & Conquest Deck Archetypes

Sifting Through the Mischief

Is this a September to remember, or do you want to be woken up when September ends? This season of Marvel Snap has brought about these questions, as this has been one of the most polarizing seasons as well as the most polarizing season pass card releases to date. The introduction of Loki has brought about some of the most drastic changes to deck composition that the community has ever seen.

The most interesting change to deck composition with the arrival of Loki has been the effect on Shang Chi. Shang Chi has been one of the most consistent and reliable cards to place in a deck since it was released. With the introduction of Loki, the addition of Shang Chi to decks while Loki is so prominent in the meta seems to be a mistake rather than an asset.

The main reason why it is a mistake rather than an asset when Loki is so dominant and prominent in the meta is because the card can be used against you at a more efficient energy cost. Although Shang Chi is still the most commonly seen card in Marvel Snap, I would advise you to monitor the usage of Loki decks and adjust your incorporation of Shang Chi accordingly. Once Loki's deck's seen percentage goes down (#1 currently), then Shang Chi should see a resurgence, but at a slower rate than before Loki’s release.

Shang-Chi

On Reveal: Destroy an enemy card here that has 10 or more Power.

Loki

On Reveal: Replace your deck with your opponent's starting deck. Give those cards -1 Cost.

My question for you is: what card do you think has impacted your gameplay or deck creation the most (positively or negatively) from Loki’s emergence? As you’ll see below, I have broken down the meta decks into a few different categories and then provided an overall tier list. You will see a win percentage and average cube rate tier list for all ranks as well as a win percentage in the conquest ranks of silver and gold. These tier lists will be compiled into an overall tier list to rank the decks from S tier to C tier. I can’t wait to hear from you in the comments, and have a BEWDiful Day!

Breakdown on how the tier list is justified and ranked:

Tier List Qualifications:

- Must have a minimum of 1% meta share of the seen percentage in CL 3000+.

- Must have a positive cube rate from our Snap.fan Tracker results.

Tier Breakdown:

S-Tier: These decks are the top performers in the scope of the meta. They had the best overall matchups, cube rate, and climb percentage at the time of the tier list release.

A-Tier: These decks are consistent and solid performers in the scope of the meta. They have consistently good matchups and will overall permit a steady climb up the ladder. They may not be the top decks for consistency in wins, but they will still overall net a positive cube gain.

B-Tier: These decks lean more toward a representation of challenge. They end up averaging close to zero overall cube gain due to a mix of higher skill and higher opportunity chance while playing them. This results in a mix of decks that are ‘fun’ and surprising. However, they may not be ideal for climbing the ladder within the scope of the meta.

C-Tier: These decks are off-meta underperformers compared to those decks in the S, A, and B tiers. They have poorer matchups and, as a result, lead to a negative average cube gain. While their presence in the meta is relevant, their consistency is not.
