My name is Drewberry and I've been creating Marvel Snap content since BETA! I'm teaming up with Snap.fan to share some of my thoughts on the upcoming new card: Jean Grey

Ongoing: Players must play their first card here each turn. (if possible)

Jean Grey seems like a fantastic control piece that will punish slow archetypes and help telegraph opponents' plays! Jean Grey could easily find home in a wide variety of decks. You could either build around her, or tech her if too many slow decks are flooding the meta. Fast decks that play a lot of cards like Bounce or Sera-Surfer will benefit as they likely won't be hindered by her reciprocal effect.

Important Details for Jean Grey’s functionality:

Her effect is reciprocal for you and your opponent.
If your side of the board is full at the Jean Grey location, you can play anywhere.
If the location is flooded or unplayable, you can play anywhere.
If multiple Jean Grey's are on the board at separate locations, you can choose one of her locations to play your first card, then every other card played that turn can be put anywhere. (effect doesn't stack)
Jeff the Baby Land Shark can be played anywhere even if Jean Grey is on the board.

Jean Grey could find a home in a wide variety of decks. You could either build around her or tech her into a few decks if too many slow decks are flooding the meta. Fast decks that play a lot of cards like bounce or sera control will benefit as they likely won't be hindered by her reciprocal effect.

Jean Grey will be released as a Series 5 card and cost 6000 tokens. She'll also be the first card released during the Spotlight Cache Era so if you've saved up some reserves you should have a good shot at opening her upon release! This card gets the Snap-buy check from me. I firmly believe she'll be meta relevant for the foreseeable future.
