Infinite Watch - Fantastic Four First Steps Season

July 30, 2025

Infinite Watch

You have only a week left to climb through the ranks and reach Infinite, so it's time to discuss the various decks in the current meta and what you should consider playing to achieve that goal. A quick look around the game reveals a fairly diverse meta, with many players experimenting with new cards in different decks while also sticking to their usual strategies. No single deck comprises more than about 15% of the meta, and most decks are hovering around the 3-4% mark.

This variability means that many strategies are viable, which is great for casual players. However, it can be frustrating when trying to reach Infinite, as the diverse nature of the meta makes it challenging to consistently win and to prepare a deck that can counter everything.

With that in mind, let’s explore the current popular decks and discuss effective strategies for reaching Infinite.

Surfer

Surfer currently holds about 15% of the meta game, with a cube rate ranging from +0.3 to +0.6. It has a win rate slightly above 50%, making it a solid choice for players looking to gradually climb the ranks. While its victories may come by small margins, earning you 1 or 2 cubes at a time, Surfer is a reliable option for consistent performance.

This strategy is particularly suitable for players who participate in only 5 to 6 matches a day or aim to complete their daily quests. Surfer offers straightforward play patterns and is less likely to result in cube losses during short play sessions. Overall, it’s a dependable choice for maintaining your progress.

Here are two of the best current options.

Surfer

Gwenpool
Red Guardian
Brood
Shang-Chi
Silver Surfer
Zabu
Sebastian Shaw

Mister Fantastic First Steps

Surfer 2

Surfer 2

Killmonger
Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Brood
Shang-Chi
Silver Surfer
Gladiator
Fenris Wolf
Galacta
Surge
Human Torch First Steps
Mister Fantastic First Steps

If you are free to play and haven’t picked up any of this season's card releases, then Surfer does get notably worse, but if you still want to play, this is a decent option that still packs a punch and is sporting a positive win and cube rate.

Discard

Morbius
Blade
Colleen Wing
Dracula
Gambit
Apocalypse
Corvus Glaive
Proxima Midnight
Scorn
Khonshu

Discard remains a viable option, especially for climbing to Infinite rank. After reaching Infinite, however, it can feel a bit stale since it becomes a predictable strategy. Opponents are less surprised and have less to think about when facing discard decks, as this approach has been around for some time. Nonetheless, if you are comfortable with it and know when to snap or retreat, I would recommend using it as a consistent deck choice.

Negative

Negative

Iron Man
Jane Foster Mighty Thor
Magik
Mister Negative
Mystique
Psylocke
Taskmaster
Gorr the God Butcher
Ravonna Renslayer
Sage
Cassandra Nova
Esme Cuckoo

Just like Discard Mister Negative decks perform well for climbing the ranks, knowing when to snap early and when to retreat is crucial. If you're not familiar with these strategic moments, I wouldn't recommend playing this deck. It can lead to inconsistent play sessions, which may result in frustrating losing streaks.

Quicksilver

Mobius M. Mobius

Fenris Wolf
Iron Patriot

Merlin

If you're encountering many Surfer or other fair-type decks that aren't necessarily focused on synergy or combos, this might be a great deck for you. It offers solid play options and is well-equipped to handle almost any situation. However, it has fallen out of favor recently, so it's not as common anymore. That said, Shadow King remains an excellent card to have, especially since Surfer still dominates the meta.

These decks are the epitome of a Fantastic Four season deck. You can effectively use almost any card from this season and still have a great time. The gameplay is quite straightforward, and with so much synergy associated with the end-of-turn cards, you mainly need to play your cards out whenever. I used this deck when I first started my climb, but I quickly moved on because it doesn't align with my preferred play style. However, it gets the job done.

Move Eggy

Move Eggy

Iron Fist
Cosmo

Emperor Hulkling
Araña
Madame Web
Fan Fei
Hellion

This deck has been around for a while, and the first time I noticed it was when my Alliance member, Eggy, shared it with us. It's a complex deck and not as forgiving as others, but it has a great surprise factor. Many players struggle with on-the-fly move calculations, which can lead to unexpected victories. If you're looking for something different, I recommend giving this a try.

Victoria Hand

Mister Fantastic First Steps

This is what I did the majority of my climb a couple of weeks ago. The deck remains solid and one of the better-performing decks post-infinite. While it is less common pre-infinite, with more people playing their old faithful decks, it still packs a punch.

Cerebro Watch

It wouldn’t have been an infinite watch if we didn’t include something related to Cerebro, which has enjoyed a lot of success after its buff a little while back.

C2

Currently, the best and most popular version is C2, which offers a variety of options for you to try. Here are two of the strongest options available, but keep in mind there are 81 cards with 2 power that you can incorporate, so it's really up to you to choose what you want to include. However, the majority of C2 decks tend to feature Luke Cage, Mystique, Shadow King, and Mister Sinister.

C3

The C3 version of the deck has taken a slight hit now that Luke Cage's power has been reduced to 2. However, Bast remains a perfectly usable card, allowing C3 to remain a viable option. C3 benefits from leveraging several high-powered tech cards, such as Killmonger and Mobius M. Mobius, which gives it an advantage in a Conquest-type format compared to the C2 version. It also performs well on the ladder. However, the loss of cards like Shadow King, which served as both a valuable tech card and power option, limits C3's effectiveness against many top Meta contenders, such as Surfer.

C5

Although it may be the least popular option, C5 is as strong as the others, primarily due to the use of the Ancient One and the Tao Mandala. The Tao Mandala allows you to need fewer 5-power cards in a lane to achieve a significant impact; sometimes, one is enough. Additionally, with Sera moving up to 5 power, you can place a lot of power on the board during the final turn using inexpensive threats like Silk, Titania, and Rhino.

Conclusion

Outside of the Surfer deck, no single deck constitutes more than 5% of the metagame. Most decks have a cube rate of around +0.3, with win rates between 52% and 55%. This indicates that the metagame is quite diverse. Even with all the decks I’ve mentioned in this article, I couldn't include many viable options. Decks focusing on destruction, various forms of discard, move, bounce, clogging strategies, and even Tribunal are all strong contenders. There is a wealth of strategies available that can help you reach infinite rank. Ultimately, choose the deck you enjoy and feel confident playing, and go for it. Confidence and familiarity are your best tools for achieving infinite status in this last week.

Also, if you stuck around and still don't have the battle pass, here you go – pLB9N5bwTI (Redeemed!). Let me know in the comments that you redeemed it!

If you reached infinite, what did you use? If not, how can I help?
